Split or merge divisions

Divide an oversized division into groups, or combine small ones.

Sometimes a division grows too big for one bracket, or two divisions are too small to run on their own. LeagueWaves can split one division into groups or merge a split back together, without re-entering players.

Split a division

1. Open Divisions and choose Split on the division you want to divide.
2. Set how you want it split (for example, into two or more groups).
3. Review and apply. Players and teams move into the new groups — nothing is lost.

Merge a split back together

If you split a division and later want it whole again, use Merge to recombine the groups into the original division.

When to use which

• Split when a division has too many teams or players to schedule or compete fairly as one group.
• Merge when numbers dropped and separate groups no longer make sense.

Good to know

• Splitting and merging move existing teams and players — you don't rebuild anything by hand.
• Review the preview before applying so you know exactly what moves where.
• After a split or merge, re-check your schedule in case games or practices need regenerating (see the Scheduling section).
