Roll over to a new season

Start your next season without re-entering teams, players, or settings.

For league admins

Rollover is the fastest way to start a new season. Instead of rebuilding your league from scratch every spring and fall, it carries your existing structure — divisions, teams, and players — forward into a fresh season, so you begin the new season most of the way done.

What rollover does

It creates a new season and copies forward what you choose from the previous one — typically your divisions, teams, and returning players — while leaving last season's data intact and untouched. You review everything before anything is saved, so it's safe to try.

Steps

  1. Open the rollover tool (from the Setup area, alongside Seasons).
  2. Choose the season you're rolling from and name the new season you're rolling into.
  3. Preview what will carry over — divisions, teams, and players. This is a dry run; nothing is committed yet.
  4. Adjust if needed, then apply to create the new season with everything in place.

Returning vs. new players

Players who are still eligible carry into the new season on their teams, so returning families don't have to re-register from zero. New signups get added the usual way (one at a time or by import). Players who have aged out are retained, not deleted, so their history is preserved.

Why it matters

Season turnover is the most tedious part of running a league — rollover turns a weekend of re-entry into a few minutes of review. Set the new season as current when you're ready, and you're off.

Good to know

  • Preview first, always — you'll see exactly what carries before you commit.
  • Rollover doesn't touch the previous season; it's additive.
  • After rolling over, set field availability and generate the new season's schedule (see the Scheduling section).
